Sleeping Pearls is an editorial that aims to capture moments of appreciation of beauty in everyday life, encouraging viewers to embrace, through observation, both the visible and invisible inspirational occurrences and people. The team explains the layers that convert an image into a powerful story, “Through our lens, we sought to create a symphony of images that resonate with the quiet power of human connection, capturing not just the seen but also the felt.” They accomplish this through juxtapositions of elements in styling and makeup, combining the real and the dream-like, such as using large white pillows to emphasize the connection to the atmosphere and influence the viewer's emotions, and incorporating various city views and types of walls in the background.
The story was created by a Paris-based photographer, Aurora Troïse, in collaboration with Pauline Robin Boniface, a stylist who is also part of WÜL Collective, model Kadidjatou, make-up artist Charlotte Nguyen, and style assistants Camille Lecamus and Camille Lecamus.

‘Each photograph is a testament to the poetry of the everyday, a visual narrative that speaks of hidden stories and unspoken connections.’
Not really a story, but more the desire to show how beauty can be perceived on the street — the fleeting moments of allure found in the everyday — a desire to capture our model as if she were an enigmatic passerby we’ve secretly fallen in love with. We aimed to evoke a sense of wonder, to freeze those transient, beautiful moments that often go unnoticed. Each photograph is a testament to the poetry of the everyday, a visual narrative that speaks of hidden stories and unspoken connections. Through our lens, we sought to create a symphony of images that resonate with the quiet power of human connection, capturing not just the seen but also the felt.

To delve into the intimacy we yearned to capture, we chose to tell the entire narrative through analog photography, accentuating the singular essence of each gaze and every motion. Embracing the tactile allure of film, we aimed to imbue each frame with the timeless resonance of fleeting moments, where the whisper of emotion and the nuance of expression unfold delicately. In the grainy textures and soft hues of analog, we sought to elevate the narrative beyond mere imagery, weaving a tapestry of moments that resonate with the ineffable beauty of human connection. This choice became a homage to the artistry of slowing down time, allowing us to capture not just the visible but the unseen depths that pulse beneath each glance and gesture — a testament to the enduring power of analog to preserve the intimacy and authenticity of the stories we wished to tell.

The 'white pillow' look introduced a subtle layer of surrealism to the photographs, enhancing their visual impact. Despite the inherent classicism conferred by the analog process, this stylistic choice imbued the images with an ethereal quality, blurring the boundaries between reality and imagination.
